Isoplexis sceptrum

Distribution: An endemic species of Portuguese island Madeira. Rare plant.

Ecology: It grows in ravines and rocky slopes of the Laurisilva, at altitudes of 600–1000 m.

Description: A perennial, branchy shrub, up to 4 m high. The leaves are ovate-oblong, 10–40 cm long, borne on the terminal branches, the flowers in dense, terminal racemes, the corolla is yellowish-orange with purplish traces, 2–3,5 cm. Flowers from June to August.
