Madagascar area covers the island Madagascar, Seychelles, Comoros, Mauritius, Reunion and other smaller islands in the wider surroundings of Madagascar.
This sub-region has its specific vegetation, mainly endemic. Flora is formed by more than 8500 plant species, which are of the three quarters endemic. We can find here 7 endemic plant families and 450 endemic plant species. High development attachment is mainly to the Indian part of Paleotropis – much more than to the closer Africa, further then to the Australis.
