Distribution: Mountains of Europe – Pyrenees, Jura, Alps, Carpathian Mountains, mountains of the Balkan Peninsula.
Ecology: It grows in damp and peaty meadow and wet rocks, from mountains to subalpine zone.
Description: A perennial herb with an erect stem, 15–60 cm high. The basal leaves are petiolate, elliptic, stem leaves sessile, lanceolate. The flowers in panicle, corolla violet with black-purple dots. Flowers from June to August. The fruit is a capsule.
Endangering and Protection: The Marsh Felwort is a strictly protected plant in some countries (A, CH, CZ, D, I).
