Distribution: Mediterranean region – from Portugal to Israel, and Crimea.
Ecology: It grows on rocky slopes, in garrigue. Blooms from April to May.
Description: Dwarf shrub, up to 20 cm tall. Stems erect or ascending, branched. Leaves opposite at least below, stipulate, linear or narrowly elliptical, 5–11 mm long and 0.5–1 mm wide, obtuse or mucronate, glabrous or glandular-pubescent, margins revolute, with small, leafy, axillary shoots. Inflorescence 3–9-flowered; pedicels much longer than the subtending bracts; two outer sepals small, the three inner large, scarious, prominently veined; petals yellow. Capsule (4–)6-seeded.
