Distribution: Central Europe – from northern Italy to southern Poland, from Bavaria to Romania.
Ecology: It grows on dry, sunny slopes, meadows and forest margins, from lowlands to highlands. It blooms from April to May.
Description: Bulbous perennial herb, without or with a few offsets, 10–20(–40) cm tall. Leaves basal, 4–6(–8), narrowly linear, 10–25(–30) cm long and 2–5 mm wide, canaliculate. Scape erect, 7–15(–20) cm long, glabrous. Inflorescence corymbiform, 6–15(–20)-flowered, lower pedicels longer than the flowers, bracts shorter than pedicels, perianth segments obovate to lanceolate, 9–15(–18) mm long, white, with wide green stripe on back. The fruit is a capsule.
