Family: Liliaceae Juss.
Distribution: Europe and Northern Africa.
Habitat: Grows in damp meadows and open woods, from lowlands to mountains.
Description: Perennial herb, 20–30 cm high, basal leaves develop in spring together with maturing capsule. The flower is long-tubular, pale purple, flowers from August to November.
Note: Often grown in gardens, all parts of the plant are poisonous.
