Family: Orobanchaceae Vent.
Distribution: It occurs in mountains of central Italy, west and south of former Jugoslavia, southwestern and central Bulgaria, northern Pindos in Greece and Albania.
Ecology: Rocky slopes, alpine grasslands, between 1500–2600 m, on limestones, serpentinites and schists. It flowers in June and July.
Description: Perennial herb with erect or ascending, crispate hairy to villous stems up to 20(–30) cm tall. Basal leaves 3–12 × 0.8–2 cm, glabrous except for villous petioles, ovate-lanceolate, 2-pinnatisect with narrow, incise-dentate, apiculate segments. Cauline leaves similar but smaller. Inflorescence villous to white-lanate, capitate to oblong, elongating in fruit. Bracts with crispate-hairy petiole, glabrous distally, clearly exceeding calyx. Calyx tubular-campanulate, 10–12 mm, lanate, teeth lanceolate, entire or sparingly toothed. Corolla 18–22 mm, purplish-red, glabrous except for a row of hairs on each side of tube; upper lip distinctly curved and shortly beaked, 2-toothed near apex. Capsule oblong-ovoid, 1.5 times es long as calyx.
