Saharan-Arabian area covers the northern part of Africa, mainly part of the Arabian Peninsula and small part of south-western Asia. Flora is rather poor here, because its considerable part contains desert areas with low species diversity. A bit richer is only the area in Ethiopia with 2 endemic plant families. In the northern part is considerable attachment to the Holarctis.
