Nature reserve is situated in the south-west part of Bělýšovský forest beyond Slatina and Balkovy (Western Bohemia).
The area is protected for the natural forest growth and for the varied scrub. There are original leafy growths with the majority of oaks (Quercus petraea). The other trees are lime trees (Tilia cordata), maples (Acer pseudoplatanus), beeches (Fagus sylvatica) and a lots of others. We can find there the variables of the forest flowers as Daphne mezereum, Hepatica nobilis, Corydalis cava, Lilium martagon, Gagea lutea and a lot of the others.
The area is inhabited by some special kinds of animals, especially by birds. There was observed eagle owl (Bubo bubo), woodpecker (Dryocopus martius), pigeon (Columba palumbus) and the others.
