Indonesian-Papuan area covers the island area of Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, New Guinea and New Caledonia. This is probably the botanically richest area in Paleotropis, with expressive endemism of plant genera and species. An outstanding endemism is on the island New Caledonia, where were found 5 endemic plant families. Endemism of species is as high as 91%. Development links are mostly on Paleotropis, partially on Neotropis, but with the near Australia has this area only slightest attachment.
