Paleotropis – Western-South African

Western-South African area covers the middle and southern part of Africa, the islands Saint Helena and Ascension in Atlantic Ocean. It belongs to the botanically richer areas of Paleotropis. We can find here 8 endemic families and specific endemism is expressive here. In this sub-region are unmistakable developmental relationships to the Neotropis and the southern part is influenced by Capensis.
